Stuart Richardson was born in 1978 in Auckland, NZ and raised in Connecticut. Since 2007, he has been based in Reykjavík. He earned his MFA in 2018 from the Hartford Art School's International Limited-Residency MFA in Photography under Robert Lyons, Michael Vahrenwald, Jörg Colberg and Mary Frey. His book dummy for Undercurrent won the award for best self-made book of the 2018 class. Stuart has taught at the Reykjavik School of Visual Arts and will teach in 2019 at the Icelandic School of Photography (Ljósmyndaskólinn). He is on the board of the Icelandic Contemporary Photography Association (FISL) and the Iceland Film Photography Association. In addition to his photography, he runs Custom Photo Lab, where he specializes in producing exhibitions for museums, galleries and artists.
